trials trials trials. pt.1ft. SMP

Trials. Trials are so tough and one of the hardest things I struggle with in my relationship with God. But, trials are made to strengthen you along the way. To talk about trials, I interviewed a few people. So as my "guest blogger" today, I have one of my best friends Sarah Morgan Pellum.

Have you ever faced trials?
SMP: yes.

Tell a story of a trial you've faced.
SMP:
I know something recent I have been struggling with is trusting God when he tells me that I don't need to be hanging out with this person. for the longest time I didn't listen to God. I thought I knew what was best. I was looking for acceptance from her when God was constantly telling me that this friendship is pulling me and you farther and farther apart each day. and it took me weeks to realize that I wasn't truly happy. I didn't have the joy you get from being in the word everyday.

How did you overcome that trial?
SMP:
during dnow I finally broke down and went running back to God because I realized I couldn't do this in my own.

How did God work in your life through that trial?
SMP:
God really showed me during that time that I need a good group of Godly friends to surround myself with. they can make the difference in your day. they know when I need encouragment and they know when I just need them there for me. God also showed me the importance of an accountability partner. because If I would have had one a couple of months ago I might have never been in that situation where I had stopped listening to God. I now have an accountability partner who I know will tell me when I'm slipping and I can tell her when she is slipping.

Encouraging tips for people facing trials:
SMP:
in Genesis 6 God ask Noah to build an ark. Noah didn't even question him. but in the world we live in today we question God when he ask us to share the word with our family. in Genesis 6:15-16 God gave Noah exact instructions on how to build the ark. Noah did not know that when God first asked him to build the ark. that just shows that God is not going to ask us to do something and then leave us hanging. he will be right by our side no matter what it is he asked us to do. if its letting go of a friendship or sharing the word in a different country. he will be right next to us.

Have a great week!!!

what's up Wednesday

WHATS UP WEDNESDAY.... Okay I really just did this as a filler because I haven't posted in a while. However, I'm working on another post it's just taking a while. Sorry. But whatev so here we go.

what I'm reading:

I'm actually done reading this butttt it was a GREAT book so I thought I'd mention it(: i totally recommend it!!

This is a bible study that a few of my friends and I just started so, I don't know much about it yet! But I'm hoping it'll be a great experience! Can't wait.

what in reminiscing about:

The beach. Definitely the beach. Those are three of my besties (Rush, Sarah Morgan, myself, and Milla) that was April2014.

what I'm looking forward too:

well. This is hard because I basically look forward to stuff all the time. But I can tell you one thing, it's not Valentine's Day. For some reason Zac Efron cancelled our date, he prob had like a movie to film.

But the closest thing I'm looking forward to right now is STATE MEET!!!!!
Remember when I told you guys I swim a lot? This is me swimming, well actually diving but you get the point. State meet is not this weekend but the next. AGH!

What I'm loving:

Hmm I'm loving having my license. In which I drove without a guardian in the car for the FIRST TIME EVER tonight. It was great.

what I've been up to:

Mostly swim, food, school, swim, food, and sleep. that's my daily schedule pretty much.

what I'm dreading:

well I always dread morning swim because who wants to get up at 5am? Not me. I'm also dreading my history test.

what I'm working on:

well I don't have a job sooo I guess school, swim, bible study(:
(If you haven't noticed, swim is the answer to most things.)

what I'm excited about:

SPRING! I just want sun, and cool weather. And spring includes spring break. And for that I am thankful.

what I'm watching:

If I could ever live the life of a TV show, it would be Grey's Anatomy. It's just so dang good and it never gets old.

what I'm listening to:

I listen to a little bit of everything. Right now I'm addicted to Mumford and Sons. AHHH!

what I'm most annoyed by:

Winter. It's a good thing I don't live in Boston because I can barely handle Mississippi winter. We don't even get snow or really anything terrible. It's just so dreadful and dull.

what I'm hoping for:

spring.

what else is new:

Nothing really. Same ole same ole.

That's all! Thx for reading. Have a great week!
